Kung Fu Panda on Blu-Ray
Written by Suzanne on November 8, 2008 – 6:35 pm -We’re off tomorrow to pick up our copy of Kung Fu Panda on Blu-Ray. This Dreamworks film stars Jack Black, Angelina Jolie, Lucy Liu, Dustin Hoffman, Seth Rogan, and Jackie Chan. My favorite character is Oogway the Tortoise, played by Randall Duk Kim.
One of the coolest things about this animated film is the Carl Douglas song Kung Fu Fighting. The mix of 70′s, disco, and marital arts mystique has made this song into a classic.
So run out tomorrow and pick up your own copy on Blu-Ray or DVD! Tell them housewifeinhollywood.com sent you. They won’t have a clue who you’re talking about, but do it anyway.
A June Wedding at the Playboy Mansion
Written by Suzanne on November 7, 2008 – 10:13 am -Internet headlines this morning range from Obama meeting with advisors on economy, to Lisa Rinna admitting she may have gone too far with injectables.
Another story sharing internet bandwidth is Kendra Wilkinson, a.k.a. K-Dub, and her recent engagement. I’m always fascinated by Playboy related stories because Hugh Hefner has more than a few chapters in the big book of pop culture.
It didn’t take long before new girlfriends, the Shannon twins, were moving into the Playboy mansion after The Girls Next Door said they we’re moving out. Girlfriend #1, Holly Madison, has been magically appearing all over Vegas with Criss Angel, but it’s Kendra Wilkinson taking the spotlight this week. Hefner issued this statement about Kendra, and her recent development:
“Kendra Wilkinson has met someone who she would like to spend the rest of her life with. His name is Hank Baskett, a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles, and he popped the question last Saturday. I have given her my blessing and will be giving her away at a very special wedding ceremony at the Playboy Mansion this coming June.”
Now that’s reality TV! Having your ex-boyfriend, who is older than your grandfather, walk you down the aisle at his own mansion.
I wonder if they’ll have an outdoor ceremony. This part of the lawn looks like a nice spot:

Barbie Traveler
Written by Suzanne on November 6, 2008 – 11:45 am -The kiddo has been playing with her Barbie dolls again and they were in need of an RV. The most recent vehicles are fully loaded with a hot tub, or rigged for the Barbie Rock Band. My daughter said none of her Barbies were rich so it wouldn’t make sense for them to own either of those. So, I searched the net and found a vintage camper, the same style I played with as a kid.
This got me thinking about the 90′s dance pop band Aqua. Whatever happened to those guys after their hit single Barbie Girl? Turns out Mattel filed a lawsuit over the song, and it was dismissed in 2002 with the judge stating, “The parties are advised to chill.”
Aqua split up in July 2001.
The King of Parody, “Weird Al” Yankovich, did a spoof called Ugly Girl. There are a lot of homemade vids to both songs, most of them quite disturbing. The most recent and official video for the song Barbie Girl is made by The Samanda Twins from British Big Brother fame.
Who knew? Here they are filming the now “official video” while oohing and ahhing over all the pink.

Time to Change
Written by Suzanne on November 4, 2008 – 10:55 pm -
Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.—BARACK OBAMA, speech, Feb. 5, 2008
To celebrate this exciting time of American change, let’s take a break in true HIH style with a pop culture classic:
Robots Attack!
Written by Suzanne on November 3, 2008 – 12:02 pm -I was checking out my candidate of choice, Barack Obama’s MySpace page and found this video:
I did find the picture below as documented proof that the robots are out there.
Halloween is over but the robots are still out and about. Do not be assimilated and do not be an ass!
Vote Barack Obama!
Choosing a Costume to Choosing a President
Written by Suzanne on November 1, 2008 – 7:06 am -Halloween night is over and done. As Americans, our next big decision of the year is choosing a President.
Unlike our costume choice that can be thrown into the costume box until next year, we’re stuck with whoever moves into the White House. We can easily take off that itchy blue wig, or wash off the green witch paint, but it’s a long 4 years if we pick the wrong candidate.
While searching the net for informative answers to my political questions I came across this video of celebs telling us to vote by telling us not to vote. Confused? Click the pic and see for yourself:
