It’s Not Unusual
Written by Suzanne on March 27, 2010 – 7:22 am -It’s not unusual that I have a thing for Tom Jones music. I was just a little kiddo when I heard him sing about me.
What’s your favorite Tom Jones tune?

Cherry Bomb
Written by Suzanne on March 22, 2010 – 8:51 am -Have you seen The Runaways? The all-girl rock band that performed in the 1970s included Joan Jett, Cherie Currie, Lita Ford, Sandy West and Jackie Fox. The movie about this rockin’ chick band is in theaters now. I’d like to take myself out on a date and check it out. I’m not sure if Mr. HIH would dig it.
I’m surprised that Dakota Fanning is so grown up now that she’s playing the role of Cherie Currie. Kristen Stewart plays Joan Jett and so far the film is getting great reviews from critics and viewers. For the official film site click here.
I love this retro clip of The Runaways performing Cherry Bomb. Makes me want to throw on some black spandex and get a Slurpee.
Listen to The Runaways and find out what the 70′s rockers are up to these days, visit http://therunaways.com
Lead singer, Cherie Currie of The Runaways creates interesting artwork. She put down the mic and picked up a chainsaw to do it. You can view her gallery and learn more about her as the Chainsaw Chick, check it out: http://www.chainsawchick.com
Have you seen the movie yet? Let us know what you thought about it.

Have a Very Smurfy Day
Written by Suzanne on March 18, 2010 – 10:09 am -There’s a lot of smurfy news out on the intertubes these days. Looks like the 80’s animated series The Smurfs will be smurfing onto the big screen in 2011.
According to IMDb.com, Smurfs is in production now. The site lists actors Quentin Tarantino as Brainy Smurf, and Jonathan Winters as Papa Smurf. Neil Patrick Harris and Jayma Mays play a couple set to have their first child when things get smurfy after they meet the little blue characters in Central Park.
George Lopez, and Katy Perry are rumored to have roles in the film. All together now, “I kissed a Smurf and I liked it.”
The role of Gargamel goes to Hank Azaria. He cracked me up as Kahmunrah in Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
Did you know that The Smurfs originated in 1958 as a comic strip by Belgian comic artist Pierre Culliford, also known as Peyo?
I have to admit I thought The Smurfs were born in the early 80’s just like Pac Man but it’s nice to know they have a cultured history.
From comics to animated series to Smurf toys in Target and now a movie in production. The collective conscious is smurfing blue. Enough of the Smurf language I know.
Let’s take a trip back to Smurf Village circa 1981. Poor Smurfette, she’s only three apples tall, blond and the only Smurfette in the whole village. Spring, or shall we say Smurfette Fever:

Voulez Vous
Written by Suzanne on March 15, 2010 – 9:06 am -ABBA will be inducted tonight into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with The Hollies, Genesis, Jimmy Cliff, The Stooges and more. Rumor has it they won’t all be there to perform but ABBA’s Benny Andersson and ex-wife Anni-Frid Lyngstad are scheduled to attend the ceremony.
ABBA has always been in my mental Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Just like Soul Train, without ABBA I might have never become a Dancing Queen. Alright maybe I’m only a dancing queen in my mental Studio 54 but that’s fine with me.
Do you want to watch the 25th Annual Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony? Check out the Official Rock and Roll Hall of Fame site by clicking here.

Nice Rack
Written by Suzanne on March 12, 2010 – 4:11 pm -Mr. HIH has been making Soul Taco’s for a couple decades now. His dad created the secret Soul Taco recipe. It’s so secret I’m not able to post it here. What I can do is share with you a hot kitchen item that makes taco baking at home easier.
Soul Taco’s are filled with secret ingredients covered with cheese and then baked. Mr. HIH used to place taco shells in the grooves of the oven shelf lined with tin foil. This worked out okay for years but when we bought a new oven with wider grooves it was impossible.
One night while we were breaking one too many taco shells I decided to search the words “taco rack” via the internet. Luckily I found the Taco Rack by La-Cook-a-Rack-a. The first time Mr. HIH prepared his secret tacos using the Taco Rack he said, “Why didn’t we get one of these years ago? This is awesome!”

Have You Fallen Down the Rabbit Hole?
Written by Suzanne on March 6, 2010 – 4:07 pm -Have you fallen down the rabbit hole yet to Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland movie? I haven’t but I plan to.
I didn’t make it to the Ultimate Fan event but I did find a cool video via Hot Topic.

OK Go then Cut
Written by Suzanne on March 5, 2010 – 3:24 pm -My home page is set to Yahoo because they always have a lot of fun articles and keep me in the know. I’m usually in the know about stuff I really don’t need to know about. Take this for example, the latest video by OK Go the guys that danced on a treadmill and are famous for their no-cut vids. Well that’s what the net is saying anyway. Here’s their latest very cool and obviously time consuming video “This Too Shall Pass”:
Now here’s a dude that says wait a minute I woke up early, watched the video, found hidden cuts and made a video to tell you about it on YouTube. Let’s see what he has to say:
Of course “This Too Shall Pass” is just one video going viral in the last few days and just like most viral vids, this too shall pass.
