Golden Globes 2009
Written by Suzanne on January 12, 2009The internet is buzzing with glamorous pics of stars on the red carpet and video of their acceptance speeches from last night’s 66th Golden Globe Awards ceremony on NBC.
Memorable moments are being posted on entertainment and news site. Here at housewifeinhollywood.com I’m doing something a little different. We’re asking you the viewer to leave your comment about last night’s show.
Did you see Johnny Depp presenting the award to Sally Hawkins? Were you too busy making dinner and doing the dishes to watch the show? Are you irritated that your favorite movie, actor or actress didn’t win?
Were you as shocked like some of the celebs, when Sacha Baron Cohen’s sense of humor took “hits below the belt”?
Leave a comment and let us know.

My wife loves the awards shows, so I tried my best to sit through the whole show :)
Here are my problems with these awards:
1) I think Breaking Bad should have won the awards, though it wasn’t even nominated and already won emmys :)
2) I hated how they called the older ladies “Dame” in other awards and how smug they looked constantly.
3) Miley and the Jonas Brothers were there.
4) Poor Ali-G (sasha baron cohen) looks aweful, maybe loosing his hair, but I am looking forward to the bruno movie.
5) Those new awards look disgusting, look like a gross 80′s kitchen countertop with that fake marble stuff.
6) Every past winner interviewed about the awards say without fail “I haven’t seen or thought about my award since the day I won.” what a nice buildup to the awards, someone ought to care about them, not even the winners do.
7) Rambling. Nobody cares about esoteric British comedy actors winning awards except film school students trying to out-knowledge each other. The lesser known winners should have a solid minute on stage, and the well known winners who are interesting people like Mickey should have 5 minutes even if he is just talking about how drunk he is.
Speaking of rambling, I better quit … award shows make me grumpy :)

I’m not into the Golden Globes but that clip was rather funny!

Normally I would watch awards show anxious to see what the stars were wearing and how they were acting. This year, I just wasn’t into it. I saw them as people unaffected by the bad economy and thought of poor people who have lost jobs, homes and are struggling to survive. I thought to myself, if I was a celeb making tons of money, I would be out sharing the money with people who were in dire need of it to survive. And of course my mind wandered to why politicians aren’t sharing their money instead of “trying” to figure out how to help the very people they are supposed to be working for. It’s inevitable. I have the economy blues.

i have the economy blues, too, Donna! I did watch most of the show, (betwixt making dinner & doing dishes) I especially liked seeing Bruce Springsteen- he & Mickey seemed so far removed from the glitz & glamour- yet perfectly suited to the times.

We don’t have t.v., I totally missed the whole thing! By the way, Julie Andrews + “When You Wish Upon A Star” = happy tears.
