Land of the Lost

I’m so excited about this movie I could spit at a Sleestak! Land of the Lost, starring Will Ferrell will be out in theaters June 5th.

What would my childhood be without eating cereal on a Saturday morning while watching Land of the Lost? This 70′s series was created and produced by Sid & Marty Krofft.

Sid & Marty Krofft, are listed under the superstar category in my pop culture book. Okay so it’s a pop culture book in my brain but with hits like Sigmund & the Sea Monsters, H.R. Pufnstuf, Electra Woman and Dyna Girl, I mean come on! Like I said, Superstars!

For those of you that didn’t have a TV in the 70’s, were still in diapers, or maybe not even alive yet, check out landofthelost.com  for more information than you really need to know.

This should be the part of my post where I place the classic intro video or start quoting the catchy Land of the Lost theme song lyrics but I found this “student project gone awry” called Sleestak’s Suave,  to share with you instead.

See if you can name some of the fun clips & characters featured in this video besides the Sleestak’s.

You didn’t think I’d stop there did you? How about this remix with RapMaster Enik & the Stacks, The Cycle is Now Complete.

LOL I was in the category of not born yet, though I always hear good things about land of the lost and of the sleestaks.
I will do some research, I tried watching part of the LOtL marathon on sci-fi channel, however my mind was being too old to let me enjoy it.

Suzanne, sounds like you can’t wait for the opening! Ferrell is very funny in a slap-stick sort of way. I like it – though I have to talk my wife into watching Elf over the holidays…
Forgot how “lifelike” the costumes, claymation, and set (the rivers in particular) were in the 70s. Ha!

I missed the Kroft brothers creations by just a few years. But I do remember a LOTL remake on TV when I was a kid. :)
