  2. Suzanne Says:

Oh yeah. Air Supply. I worked an Air Supply concert once and I don’t mean to bust the illusion but those guys were two of the nastiest and snidest musicans I’ve ever met in my life! The sheer arrogance that they threw out was incredible, as they put themselves on par to the Pope while backstage, and compared themselves to the Beatles not once, but three times, on stage! Also, I never saw so much cocaine or hookers back stage at a concert in my life. Now to be fair, Air Supply wasn’t with the hookers. They were reserved for “the band.” A week later I did a Village People concert, who were quite tame in comparrison. Air Supply is more hardcore then you’d ever imagine. But I’ll tell you, that makes them more endearing to me. After my experience with them I started collecting thier 45s, and I can play “All or Nothing At All” on guitar.

BTW – I have a classic photo of myself with Air Supply that’ll be on the new version of my web-site, but is in my album of “me and famous people” on facebook.

@Sam great stories! I don’t think I’ve ever considered them as anything but 2 guys playing love songs. So there wasn’t any illusion to bust for me.

Very cool you can play guitar. Do you take requests? Know any good Annette Funicello tunes? Pineapple Princess? Maybe that would be better with a Ukulele lol

YAY for the new version of http://popcultureaddict.com

I can play guitar….but not very well. No Annette tunes, but I do play a number of Partridge Family, Bay City Rollers and KISS songs, and at least one song by Britney Spears and Charles Manson.

Oh – and the song I can play is “Making Love Out of Nothing At All” – not “All or Nothing At All” (the Sinatra song was obviously in my head when I wrote that).
