Thanks for this interview with Arvid. I'm a french fan of Rex Mundi which happens to be just out right now in our book stores. I discovered it by coincidence and bought them on amazon in english.
It's really a very great comic, Arvid has done a very fine job to create such a coherent new History line , with so many details you have to read it twice to appreciate which is not a common thing for comics (apart Alan Moore).
Moreover Mr Nelson is a very pleasant person who answers to comments on his blog.
I hope he will have great succes in France which is not an easy task (for so many sad reasons). I'm trying on my little level to promote it in my friend circles and on my blog.

Bonjour de France.

Hello there how's my favorite housewife? I read this interview for you not to learn anything about the author as, and this one is no exception, I find most authors boring to say the least...you have to ask yourself, "Self, how can there be such great art done by such mundane people?" Take for instance M. Night Shyamalan, quiet reserved but some of the most remarkable new ideas ever have come from his mind. He may be the only original thinker of our age. I think that most artist believe appearing humble "cheese I just don't know where my ideas come from" endears them to there audience...not me life is just too damn short to be any way but the way your are why not say, "In my mind are many doors and behind these doors are where I search for the fodder of my writings."...sorry I've had a couple of drinks and it makes me ramble...do you still love me?

JOHNNY DEPP as JULIEN? Perfect! Loved the news! Rex Mundi deserves to become a movie, a great one. I`m really excited and can`t wait to see the comic book in the big screen.

Mrs. House Wife Hollywood I loved the review with the creator of Rex Mundi. I’m a huge fan of the t.v. Episodes of Alias, Da Vinci code and Ann Rice which are all based on historical secret societies. It was nice to read about a writer I had never heard of before. My son and I recently started collecting old comics. This is great because these comics are up alley so I can actually read some secret stuff along with my son reading about good and evil. Also I peeked at the first copy linked to your site and I must say Dr. Saliniere is definitely worth getting to know! :) I think you better hang up those scrapbooks, because you have a great talent here with this site. I Look forward to what else is coming soon!

I'm a big fan of Rex Mundi, I highly recommend it. It's similar to DaVinci Code, only good. Great mystery, noir atmosphere, and a compelling cast.

The movie is hopefully coming along. From what I heard the Writers Strike stalled it a little. Either way, I can't wait to see it.

I've literally read thousands of comic books and I've also read countless interviews/reviews. This is without question, the single best interview i've ever read.

*Sigh...guess i need to hit up amazon.com and get the entire Rex Mundi series now. THANKS A LOT SUZANNE! lol...

Suzanne,

That was a good interview!! Congratulations! Never heard of him before, but he sounds like an interesting guy. And it sounds like you were able to get a scoop of some sort on Johnny Depp doing the movie! SCOOP!
